10 things on the Tenth

Well this is a Random 10 things I have done in the last few weeks.....because I have been WAY TOO BUSY!!!! I am learning the more you say yes to some things you must say NO to your family!! I miss them and starting Sunday they are all mine.....because I am gone to a VBS workshop most of the day today- then back for some family pictures tonight.....then hopefully a great time in the Lord's house & family time Sunday!!!

So here are 10 random things I have done in the LAST few weeks....

1. Sat and enjoyed the Weather Channel.....from my own living room- like the colorful MAPS on the wall!!

2. Helped organize the resource room at church.....lucky for me it was spring break and some other ladies HELPED A LOT!!! Had some wonderful baby sitters that week....it took 4 days from beginning to end!!

3. Survived ANOTHER 6 HOUR drive to "Oklehoma" to see Poppie & Grana!!!! Theses trips are every other month- and the boys get better and better each time!!!

4. Went to Cousin AG's 6th birthday party.....which was a skating party- AND WERE AMAZED at what a GREAT SKATER C WAS!!! He is definitely getting some of the skates for his birthday next fall!!! He LOVED TO "KATE!!!" Asked every day for a week after!!

5.Hosted a table for our churches first ever Passover Seder......very very interesting and I LEARNED A LOT about the traditions we have at Easter!! This is my table at Easter Sunday when we all came and ate at our house- but the one at church was similar......since I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!! Ugh!!

6. Helped Host a Shower for this beautiful young woman Katie.....she is getting married on June 19th....the day I leave on a missions trips......sniff sniff.....still sad I am going to miss such a Wonderful event!! I love her & her family!! Her mom Renee is one of my favorite friends in the world!!!

7. Cleaned and sorted ALL CLOTHES in boys CLOSETS......changed T from 5-6 to 7 boys and shoes from 12-13 to ONE....yes he is ONLY 4!!!

Then jumped in the attic and got out hand-me-downs for C....he is in a 3T!!

8.Pick and chose a few battles this being one......I tell him he doesn't have to take a nap....he can read- MUST stay on his blanket (Thanks Donna from Oklahoma0 he loves it!!!) and read books quietly......hahahaha he falls into the TRAP EVERY TIME!!! I go and check after about 10 minutes....he is asleep!!!

9.Attended SESAME STREET LIVE......and

LOVED IT!!!! 4th Row seats ELMO is REALLY BIG in person!!!! The next week after we saw it- EVERY TIME we watched the show they would say..."LOOK THERE'S so and so....we SAW THEM in PERSON!!!"

10. Heather's HOPE....helped my friend Heather out with our FIRST team for Relay For Life.....raised OVER $4000!!! Had a FUN time.....and so proud of her and her speech she made- reminding every one how even though you are 30 and healthy feeling....you need to check out the slightest pains.......and CANCER is NOT a death sentence- she had stage 4 Appendiceal Cancer just a year ago. Please PRAY she has a Cancer FREE Report in June!!

Easter....Jesus is the Reason for the Season...

I would like to share this video with you. If you don't know Jesus.... he is only a prayer away. If you don't know the real reason we celebrate Easter.....it was because he died for your sins & sickness. He was buried and then rose from the dead and is now ALIVE here with all of us now.

He is here with you now as you read this and he wants to be with you always. He is my friend- and daily I talk with him, and he helps me each day. He takes you as you are- you don't need to clean up first....that is his part, he does all the cleaning.

All things New again...

I just love Spring, the weather is nice and cool yet getting warmer each day. Unless like here in South Arkansas it was 30 degrees yesterday and snowing.....then 67 degrees today!! You never know around here...if you don't like the weather- stick around- it will change!!

For the most part it is just perfect for me if the weather stayed 60-70 degrees year round....that would be PERFECT!! But, we don't live in a perfect world- and don't have perfect weather. I cannot complain- we do have a roof over our head to protect us from the snow & rain. It could be a lot worse.

Spring time just reminds me so much of my life when Jesus came into it. I saw this scene when we went on our nature walk the other day- couldn't help but take a picture. When winter fades away and buds start making their way through the leaves and pine straw left behind. It is just amazing that- even though those beautiful flowers that were there last year died when it became too cold to survive. Yet once the weather gets nice again- here they return.

I came to know Jesus Christ when I was only 5. My mother led me to the Lord in the front seat of our car. Being raised in church I have no clue what it is like NOT to go to church every Sunday- and listen to the preacher's sermon. That was just what we did. I helped in the church nursery, and many other areas- because that is how you serve him.

Then when I became a teenager- and knew it all (wink) I grew apart from God and grew cold with him. Just as the winter months grow cold- I only ran to him when I NEEDED HIM! Not when he needed me. Dust on the Bible was so thick you could write your name in it. I then got in with the wrong people because I was NOT in his will- and following his ways!!

Needless to say- When I hit bottom and came running back to church and running back to the feet of my Heavenly Father- I was welcomed with Loving arms. He was always there waiting on me- unconditional love!!

Just when you have thought you have lost all hope- you have lost your way. He is there to pick you up and hold your hand. He will carry you through the worst days of your life. He is closer than any brother- and always there for you!!

So spring to me- is in the midst of all you have been through- even if you have NEVER EVER known about Jesus Christ- he is there to show that he gives life to all.....just as the green leaves and beautiful buds come up out of the ground that looks as if it is dead and gone. He can work in your life to remove all those things that don't belong. He erases all sin and even though we are human and we may go down that road again- his grace is sufficiant and he forgives us EVERY TIME!!

You may wonder where to begin- well just as I learned last week about St. Patrick a young 16 year old Britain boy who was kidnapped by Irish robbers and held in prison for 6 years- made to be a slave. He had no family or friends- so he started to talk to God and ask him for his help. He prayed and talked to him to give him comfort- in the midst of his darkest hours. God was there- and God worked through him allowing him to escape and he later became a missionary in Ireland. Then he used the 3 leaf clover to share about God- God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit.

Just as God touched Patrick many many years ago- he is the same God who can help you today!! When you call out to him- he will answer your prayers and come to your side. But it is up to you!

I am reminded every time I look at this tree in my driveway- it may look like a ugly tree, with no leaves and crooked in so many ways. But wait a few weeks and it has a beautiful flowers from it and looks so pretty. Changes don't happen over night- some times it takes a while. But as long as God is walking by your side....any change is good!!

I pray that he touches you with beautiful life just as he does all the trees and flowers in the spring. He has created all things beautiful- this includes you my friend!!

For whoever finds me, finds life and receives favor from the Lord. Proverbs 8:35

Leaping Leprechaun

His new trick this week is....throwing things in his crib......only to jump on the side and leap into the crib to fetch it then quickly leap back out!!

We had friends over Friday he says "watch me....lookie me......." and preforms his trick for his friends!!! Our own little entertainer- I am so proud.....I just hope he makes it to the Olympics one day!!

You might be thinking.....wait I thought they were gonna take that crib down?? Well, after much thought- this is MY ONLY WAY TO KEEP HIM IN THE BED.....at night!!

Luckily this is his DAY TIME TRICK!!! We might soon try to change it to a toddler bed.....but for right now....he sleeps so good in his crib!! This is also the baby who never slept longer than 4 hours at a time for the first 16 months!!! I am really enjoying my sleep now that he is TWO!!
