My Heroes!!!

On our trip to Eureka Springs last week......we had to bring back souvenirs.......I figured the boys would enjoy something to play with instead of a t-shirt that said "my parents left me @ my grandparents while they got me this shirt in Eureka Springs Arkansas!"

So the first place we stopped to eat....Cracker Barrel....mmmmm Chicken & dumplings!!! They have a gift shop in the front. Well, I was looking around and saw these super cute super hero capes. I had a BLUE one and a RED one in my hand ready to buy.....for only $12.99- what a DEAL!!! They love to wear their PJ's with superman & batman....but they are shorts- so this would be perfect since we are still couped up inside due to the cold weather!!

Then along came B.....I showed them to him......he turned up his nose and said "Mama what are you thinking....look here these are batman & spiderman reversible!! Get these instead!!" You know women have no clue when it comes to super heroes!! I placed the PLAIN blue & red capes back on the rack.

I then took Batman & Spiderman capes to the check out and proceeded to pay.......then she told me and absurd amount of money to pay her.....I looked at B and said how much were those Chicken & Dumplings. The poor cashier looked puzzled as I asked her how much everything was.....she informed me that the capes were $24.99 because they were the Batman & Spiderman instead of the PLAIN RED & BLUE!!!! Ugh!!! I looked at him and said "well??" He gave me that head tilt....you know...go ahead!!! So here they are OUR HEROES!!! They love them and run around the house all day everyday with guns some times too- cowboy hats too!!!

T told me the other day..... "I am a good hero.....I will save you from the BAD GUYS MAMA!!!"

C likes to growl and show his teeth.....guess that makes him the bad guy?? I already know I got my money's worth out of the cute little capes!!

Fun in the SNOW!!

Yes it is true...we got snow in the South!!! We could not believe it ourselves. A few weeks ago it snowed.....it was BIG FLAKES.....but not enough to even dust the ground hardly. The boys went outside and ran around- but they were very disappointed that they didn't get to PLAY in it!!

This time it snow a lot more.....and decided to stick around for awhile!!

C was in Awe of the white stuff as it fell from the sky- he just would wave his hands around and try to catch it!! I told them both- if they took a good nap....then they could go play in it!! Mean I know!! So when C woke up from his nap he said " I go ketch no!!" Right you are buddy!!

This was C's first time to get to play in snow....last snow storm he was only 3 months old- and T was 2! It doesn't snow much here- and when they say it is going to SNOW, it is usually wrong or barely snows!!

C's just stood there and ATE the snow. He would pick up a piece and then lick it until it was gone....he would look up at me and say "I eat da no....it's icee!!" He loves Icee's so- same thing just no flavor right?
It was also a FIRST for Maizie the dog....thought I was gonna loose her in the snow a couple of times- but she was too busy pulling the boys "globs" off their hands and running away with them. Then as I would reach down and get the gloves....she would grab my scarf!! Oh what a puppy!!

It snowed about 10 hours!! Funny thing though- it still was not a whole lot. Enough for some good snow balls!! T was all about throwing snowballs at me & C!! That was fun until he hit my camera!!

When I was growing up in Oklahoma....it never snowed much- but when it did snow....it was gone the next day! Unfortunately same thing happened here. We had to leave early Friday morning- so we didn't get to play in it again on Friday!!It was fun while it lasted though!!

Did you get to play in the snow?? Have you ever heard of snow ice cream?? I never had until I moved to AR....HA! Seems like it must be a south thing!!

Good Job & Goodbye!!

This picture was taken a LONG time ago....maybe a year or so?? But I ran across it this week while I was looking for other pictures of food for my new Recipe Blog!!

This was the morning T made his BED ALL ON HIS OWN!! Do you see the pride in those little Rosie cheeks!!

We have been making his bed together since he was 2 when he got his bigger bed. Since this picture which like I said was about a year ago.....He can make it on it's own. I did mention this week- how I have to over look all the lumps & bumps and pillows not in the right place...not to mention the sheet falling to the floor out from under the comforter!!

That would totally break his spirit of JOY- so I choose to over look it, and know that with time it will get better!! He was teaching C this week how to help him.... yeah, I can see where that is going!! I was the younger child. My sister use to TIME me to see how fast I could fetch her things or do her chores!!

If you do notice the Giant LUMPS on the sides.... that is a pillow on each side of his bed. My friend Mrs. Vonda, told me that trick she used it for her grand kids. He kept rolling off the bed...along with the pillows I stacked beside him. She told me to tuck them UNDER the fitted sheet!! Well, isn't that smart....helps to know smart people with good advice!!
Then there is this....dum...dum....dum....!!!!! We are parting with the CRIB this weekend!! Well, I have had the kit out and ready to do it for weeks now- just waiting on my handy man to show up. B has been working a lot these last few weeks he is taking off Friday hopefully, to spend family time together!!
I have taken all the bumper pads out & the skirt of the bottom and it already looks different- so we will see?? He has jumped out- a few times, and gotten in trouble for it. He stays in for now- But I can only imagine??

I can remember T the first night in his BIG BED.... I told him he would get a spanking if he got out of his bed- and he could not get out of bed until morning time when Jo Jo's circus & the Wiggles come on!! We turned up the monitor that night and listened to him... he quietly whispered "mama..mama..." and then he was asleep!!

He also didn't GET OUT of his BED until he was 3 1/2.....He would call out to me after a long nights sleep or nap time...."MAMA..MAMA...I AM UP!!!" I would go into his room and snuggle with him and hold him. When you tell him something- he takes it for the gospel!! It got to the point I was afraid it would wake up C....and he didn't even start to sleep through the night until about that time!!

T has been a good sleeper 14 hours a night at the age of 8 weeks!! C on the other hand....he is a GREAT sleeper now- you just need to be careful not to walk to quickly, he is a very light sleeper!!

I pray he will stay in his bed so we don't have to remove all the toys...etc...from there!! I am going to use the same method for him....even though they are different kids- I don't know what else to do??

Any suggestions??

Sweet Dreams....

Erase Mistakes...

This week while I was in the kitchen I gave the boys a dry eraser marker and two boards to write on- and eraser to share too!!

I saw in my friend Mer's blog a long time ago how she let her daughter write on the white fridge door- because it washes off.....with a dry eraser marker ONLY!!!

Seems like the boys are always under my feet while in the kitchen. I try to let them "help" but some things are just to much or some times I am in a hurry. We do have a few little magnet things that sing songs... those get old fast..... then there is always the old trusted TV watching.... we are trying to remove a little from that too.

Ok with all that said- They LOVED IT!!! I was not brave enough to let them do just the fridge, because at their age I don't think they would understand only draw on that space. Then I would turn around and my walls would have it on them.... or my WHITE cabinets!!
Well, the next day while I was outside for a moment... rolling the trash bins back up to the house. T came up to me when I walked in and said look what I made.... WITH A SHARPIE in his HAND!!!!

I very calmy said "Oh yes please show me everywhere you made something!!" He then led me to the board and this was it!!!!

I then told him we cannot draw with this matker- it would NOT COME OFF of things!!! He said "oh I am sorry I won't do it again." So sweet- but now I was going to have to throw this board away!

Then that is when I remembered this product I bought from here. It says in the ad it will take off permenant marker??? Let's just see I thought.

WIPED OFF WITH OUT ANY WORK AT ALL!!!
Every home needs a bottle. I told T this bottle CAN take it off- BUT we won't EVER EVER do that again RIGHT???!!!!

YES M'AM!!!

Laugh through the week on this one...

This is our cowboydee he puts any hat on and says "I am cowboydee" instead of saying "yee Haw" he prefers to say "aha ha ha" He cracks us up!! This is a HUGE wooden rocking horse that Mr. Hughey made for T when he was 2. They boys love to play on it and pretend to be cowboys!!

Once again I have a video today- I am taking a blogging break. I have 2 rooms in my house that need improvement. I am painting our bedroom & the boys bathroom. My goal it July 31st. T's birthday party is the 1st of August. I always love to do last minute projects- that way they will get done!!! I will be back the 4th of August- C is having surgery on his ears the 3rd- remember to pray for him.

I might randomly put a picture up or two or the progress- or maybe not??? I just need to focus on those things right now- I will have plenty to post after his party for sure!!!

Enjoy the laughs!!

Please Pass the Ketchup!

Just a heads up. If you ever want to invite us over for supper- PLEASE have COLD KETCHUP on hand. I learned VERY early on in our marriage to have the ketchup COLD too!!

B has always had a LOVE for ketchup- beef. pork, chicken, ham, eggs, I could go on and on... ALL of his family knows that he loves ketchup. I love the look on there faces when we go over to eat and they are almost out or have a half of bottle left. They are praying in their head "please God let that be enough for B!!"
We were probably married about a month or so, I had no ketchup in the fridge. I did have a bottle in the pantry. Well, I was told very quickly that "My mama ALWAYS has an extra bottle in the fridge- so there is one cold at all times for me!" After he wiped the HOT ketchup off his face I told him " you better not forget where she lives!" We laugh about this story to this day- Honestly I did not squirt it in his face- I just threw the bottle across the room and said "can your mama catch this?" Nearly knocking his head off!!! I really love my mother-in-law she is great!! I just had to learn a few of her tricks.....I am still learning!!
On to the kids......HELLO that is what the pictures are about!!
I believe they have found the LOVE that their daddy has for ketchup!! Now that C can use a fork he LOVES to dip his whatever food that is on his plate in ketchup. After he points to the 'cold' bottle on the table and flaps his arms while whining "this...this...this..." I tell him to say " Ketchup Please"- Then he repeats what I said his tongues that he speaks???
Still not for sure what language it is.
Give both the boys a squirt of the red stuff and they are happy campers- or eaters.
I had to grab my camera last night. It was crazy funny. They both were laughing at each other- not knowing they both had messy faces. C kept saying "mmmmmm up....mmmmm up" Maybe that means ketchup??
I do like ketchup but prefer Mustard. Yes I will eat it with fries and some things-but I like the COLD yellow stuff better!!
How about you Ketchup, Mustard or Mayo??

Are there Beaver's living here??

This is our beautiful expensive crib...

This is the work of Our Little Beavers.....

When T was in this crib he did a little damage, then when C came here.....well the damage can speak for itself. I have tried to buy a cover- they don't fit. The sides are custom made. If I had to do it over again I would buy a cheaper crib that every thing fits. My husband's parents bought it for us- I am so thankful that they purchased this crib I looked for on the Internet and did tons of research. Little did I know there was no guard for teething babies, nor would it fit anything they sale in the store to go on the side (eg. mobiles, lights, music things...) Atleast it fits mattresses and sleeping babies... I did not say LONG sleeping babies though!!

While I was expecting C and we did the "move" from T's room to C's room. I looked at the teeth marks. In disgust I said "I think I am gonna sand this down and re-stain it" My precious father-in-law said in his sweet soft voice. "Those are priceless teeth marks, one day you will wish you still had them!" Enough said, I kept it the same. Now there are just added marks. What a mouth look at those marks on the side???

I cannot complain I have been blessed with 2 healthy babies. One who would sleep 14 hour nights the other who still sometimes sleeps 4 hour nights.
Maybe he has wood stuck in his teeth?

This is a bed that converts to a toddler bed. For years we will see the work of our "little beavers" and those teeth might get knocked out or just fall out. Then they might be covered with braces one day. Then they will be grown and not even eating in our house anymore. But you can bet I am hanging on to this priceless piece of wood.

Do you have any beavers at your house??

To be a Fly on the Tree

We were doing a little yard work and the boys were playing outside. I looked over and saw them sitting under this large pine tree talking, ran inside to get the camera and caught this moment!!

Thank God I was able to catch this on camera. I pray that my boys are close when the grow up. I have a sister that is 26 months older than me. We were always close and remain that way. We are totally opposite but from the same parents- just like my two.
We have had our moments, and I am sure my boys will too! No matter what we still Love and Care about each other more than the other one knows!

I just wish I could have been closer to hear the conversation.
What do you think they are talking about??

Yes, that is Clay EATING BARK!!! It has not come out in the diaper yet?? So maybe he was just tasting it??
HE PUTS ANYTHING & EVERYTHING in HIS MOUTH!!!
Got any advice for that???

My SUPER HERO

My Super Heroes are little in size but big in saving there mama from danger!!
B always tell T take care of mama and C, every time he goes to work. They save me from the perils of scraping food off dishes, vacuuming cluttered carpet, and mostly piles and piles of laundry.
I love my super heroes!!
We bought these pj's the other day at the store and T wanted to wear them THAT NIGHT!! I put them on- and melted. They are just too cute- I am gonna try to get a video of them stretching out their little arms and flying as they run from room to room. T yelling "superman" as he is flying through the room. And C does his best to say "bamaaannn" it is so funny to see him follow T with his arms out. Needless to say it did take a while to settle them down for bed. We might just wear these someday while they play. They have little removable capes on the back.
I am so protected!! And feel so SAFE!!! Wouldn't you??
Do your kids have a favorite 'dress-up' outfit??

Free Day of Fun!!

Today was a nice cool spring day. I thought we would take a drive down to our favorite places, the farm road and duck pond. Since I stay at home it is very important for all of us to 'get out'. I have found when you stay inside all the time or at home all the time....it seems to get everyone in a funky mood. So, I try often to do different things and go special places to get out of the house and have a fun time. It really makes you bond and grow together in a relationship when you take time to do special things. Even if it cost nothing- which is most important.

We love to go to the local "farm road". It is a mile of barns, farm animals, and nature at it's best. T loves to see the "buckin' bulls." Recently there were some new babies and that was fun to see the little goats running and playing. Not to mention the fresh loverly farm fragrance smell that is provided with the windows rolled down.

After the drive down the road we stopped at our all time favorite place....the duck pond! We go on a regular basis to feed the beautiful fat ducks. When they see you pull up they come quacking....waddling up and ready to get there week old stale bread. Today was the first day to put C on the ground and he stayed in one place and did not charge towards the pond. Usually this no fear child makes a b-line for the water. He has changed a lot in the last few weeks and seems to be minding better! (Praise the Lord- but my hand is stinging more)

On our visit to the ducks- we had a special job to do. Find "Chick" the fish a new home. Yes, Chick is a 6 yr old goldfish that thanks to Aunt Donna has been living in our backyard for almost a week. She decided to fill in her goldfish pond in her backyard.....so T got to bring "chick" home!

B & I told him that he needed a better home. So we thought if we let him go live at the duck pond, then we can take fish food when we go and feed the ducks too. Plus, he needed to have fish friends more than live in our kiddy pool in the backyard.

As we took chick from his 5 gallon buck I let T say good-bye and pet him one last time. And with tears in his eyes he said "bye bye chick I know you will have fun here, now go find a mama and daddy who will love you and play with you" Bless his heart, that kid is so sweet and the heartfelt things that come out of his precious mouth. So, I placed chick in the water praying that he would swim away and get out of site as soon as he could. Poor chick going from a one fish pond to a pond full of fish- being the new kid is not fun.

I had a great day with the boys, it seems like they are growing up so fast and they will be gone before I know it. I cherish each visit to the duck pond and drive down the farm road....one day they will be driving and I know this day will come sooner than I even expect.

I hope you enjoy the pictures from today. I enjoyed taking them! Do you have any special places to go and visit that are Happy on the heart and not Heavy on the pockets?
